Compress / optimize PDF

This PDF was already optimized: the compressed version wasn’t any smaller, so the original is offered unchanged. Try a lower quality or shrinking the photos.

Limitations

• Only recompresses photos that are already JPEG and in color (the most common case for heavy PDFs: scans or high-resolution photos). Black-and-white or indexed images, or ones already heavily compressed, are left untouched to avoid risking quality.
• If a PDF doesn’t have photos like that (for example, it’s all text), this tool won’t shrink it by much — a plain-text PDF is already lightweight to begin with.
• Each photo is only replaced if the new version is smaller than the original.
